Arsenal have made a shock move for Charly Musonda, the talented young winger who currently plies his trade with the Gunners’ Premier League rivals Chelsea, after the Belgian expressed his unhappiness at the London club, according to the Metro.

Musonda is reportedly set to refuse a new deal that will be offered to him by Chelsea, and his current contract only ties him to the club until the summer of 2019. The winger is said to be unhappy with his game time and lack of opportunity, which is unsurprising given that he has made just five total appearances for the North London club.

After posting about his feelings on Instagram the Belgian youngster alerted the footballing world to his discontent, and Arsenal appear to be the first team that have registered an interest. The Gunners are preparing for the imminent departure of star winger Alexis Sanchez and Musonda could prove to be a valuable long-term replacement for the Chilean.

Arsenal currently sit in ninth place in the Premier League table, nine points behind leaders Manchester City, and they will thus need to ensure a smooth transition to the post-Sanchez era in order to challenge for the top four.

A change of scene could be exactly what Musonda needs to display his obvious talent and earn himself some consistent game time.
