Premier League giants Arsenal came out of the January transfer window fairly well, adding both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to their squad, tying Mesut Ozil down to a new contract, and generally dealing well with the departure of Alexis Sanchez.
The Gunners did however also ship Theo Walcott off to Everton, and Arsene Wenger could be set to lose another faithful servant of the club, according to the Sun. Jack Wilshere is reportedly being eyed by Liverpool, and could make the switch to Anfield if he doesn’t renew his contract.
Wilshere is in his 10th season with the North London club, and has come to epitomise Arsenal as a player. He has however made just 14 Premier League appearances this season, and the arrival of Mkhitaryan could further limit his minutes.
Liverpool meanwhile are contemplating the prospect of losing Emre Can due to his contract expiring in the summer, so it is perhaps unsurprising that they are in the market for a replacement.
Wilshere could certainly do a good job of replicating Can’s energy and dynamism, and could perhaps add an extra element to their passing game, as well as a threat from midfield in terms of running beyond the forwards.
