With reports in the past few weeks suggesting that Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud needs to leave the North London club in order to ensure his place in the France squad for the 2018 World Cup, a whole host of teams have been lining up to acquire his services.

The forward has been struggling for game time under manager Arsene Wenger for some time, but his woes have only worsened since the arrival of international teammate Alexandre Lacazette. As a result Giroud is yet to start a Premier League game this season, though he has featured 12 times from the bench.

There is no denying the French international’s talent, and he has grabbed three goals so far despite his lack of consistent minutes. With a total of 12 goals in the previous campaign, it is little surprise that Giroud is attracting attention for Europe’s top clubs.

Borussia Dortmund are the latest club in line to bid for the Frenchman, according to German publication SportBild, as they prepare for the potential of a future without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese striker has been heavily linked with a move away for Germany, and Dortmund are in the market for a replacement already. Giroud could provide the perfect candidate as he is a proven goal scorer in one of Europe’s top leagues, and a fresh opportunity in the Bundesliga could reinvigorate the Frenchman’s career.
