Premier League giants Arsenal are in real danger of missing out on a Champions League spot for the second consecutive season, even despite their impressive January signings.
The Gunners added Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the hopes of securing a top four finish, but they find themselves eight points off fourth with 11 games to play.
Despite that, manager Arsene Wenger is looking ahead to the summer in order to bolster his squad. One name on his shopping list for next season is that of Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, according to the Express.
The Frenchman joined the Catalan super club in the summer for £135m, but has made just five appearances due to injury. The Blaugrana have been utterly dominant in La Liga even without their summer signing, but it will be interesting to see whether they will let him go in the summer.
Reports suggest that any deal involving Dembele leaving will depend on whether or not Barca can acquire the services of Atletico Madrid talisman Antoine Griezmann. Should the striker make the switch to Catalonia then Dembele would be free to join Arsenal.
There is little doubt of the winger’s talent, and at just 20 years of age he still has a huge amount of room for development.
