Spanish super club Real Madrid have been heavily linked with various right backs in recent weeks and the latest in the crosshairs is Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin, according to the Express.

The lightning quick fullback is being lined up by Los Blancos as a replacement for long-time servant of the club Dani Carvajal. The current Real right back was recently diagnosed with a viral pericardium infection and has missed the last few weeks of action, though his recovery is reportedly going incredibly well.

Interestingly Bellerin was widely expected to make the switch to Real Madrid’s rivals Barcelona in the summer, having spent eight years in their famed academy as a youngster. However the Catalan club instead opted for Portuguese defender Nelson Semedo who joined from Benfica.

With Spain’s two top clubs both interested in the Spanish international it is no surprise that he is considered one of the most talented right backs in world football. With blistering pace, strong attacking impetus and solid defensive play Bellerin would make a strong addition to a Real Madrid side whose defenders play incredibly high up the pitch.

However it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will let their star right back depart, especially given the Gunner’s difficult start to the season. In the last Premier League campaign Bellerin contributed a goal and four assists from his fullback position and Arsenal will need his creativity if they are to challenge for the top four this time around.
