Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool have both lost a star player in this January transfer window, and it is little surprise that Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp are in the market for potential replacements.
Unfortunately the pair of managers have their eyes on the same winger – Monaco’s Keita Balde, according to the Mirror. Fans of the two clubs will thus hope that the 22-year old can fill the shoes of either Alexis Sanchez or Philippe Coutinho.
Keita Balde only made the switch to French champions Monaco in the summer, but he has impressed in his short time with the club. The Senegalese international has registered five goals and three assists in 15 Ligue 1 appearances, and his exploits have caught the attention of other European clubs.
Arsenal have an Alexis Sanchez-shaped hole in their squad now, despite the arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and they currently sit sixth, five points off their usual fourth spot. Liverpool meanwhile hold that fourth spot, and have scored a remarkable 54 goals during this campaign.
The addition of Keita Balde to either squad would certainly make the team a more fearsome prospect, and give the manager an extra option to exploit for the rest of the season.
