It seems as if Arsenal‘s embarrassing loss to Liverpool over the weekend was the final straw for one Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as a Sky Sports report has him making the move to Chelsea.
The 24-year-old Englishman is set to make the move from North to West London as reports say that Chelsea shelled out £35 million to get “Ox” to make his way to Stamford Bridge.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was a 4/7 odds to move to Chelsea, only second behind Liverpool, but it seems as if the midfielder has chosen to stay in London albeit not with Arsenal.
The Gunners face a mass exodus as there are many other players that want to (or have) quit Arsene Wenger’s club, and it seems as if Ox was the first major casualty.
After losing Gabriel two weeks ago, the North London squad faces more big departures as Alexis Sanchez, Shkodran Mustafi, Kieran Gibbs and Lucas Perez are some names that are linked with making exits.
Since joining Arsenal in 2011, Oxlade-Chamberlain made quite the impact in his seven year career with the Gunners.
He made close to 200 appearances with the club and scored 20 goals as he made his name as one of the more speedy, versatile wingers in the Premier League.
Should the deal with Chelsea go through, it would be a short time until the English international would face his former club with the Arsenal/Chelsea fixture just a short three weeks away.
