Sanchez has been linked with a move to multiple clubs, most notably Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Manchester City. With the Chilean gone there will be hole on the left hand side of Arsenal’s attack, and French winger Martial looks like an ideal replacement.
Martial has been used sparingly by Jose Mourinho this season, featuring from the bench for most of United’s league games this season. Despite the sporadic nature of his game time the 21-year old has still managed three goals and two assists in the Premier League, and has added a further goal and two assists in United’s two Champions League games this season.
Arsenal will have to pay a premium sum to secure the Frenchman’s signature, especially considering the fact that United paid £36m for the winger in 2015. The North London club find themselves in fifth place in the Premier League, six points behind United having scored 10 less goals than the Manchester club. It would be quite the scalp if Arsene Wenger could convince Mourinho to sell Martial, but one that could pay off handsomely for Arsenal if it materialises.
