Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly set to make a move for talented Lyon forward Nabil Fekir in preparation for the imminent departure of star players Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, according to the Guardian.

The Gunners currently sit in sixth in the Premier League table, a whopping 12 points behind high-flying leaders Manchester City, and Arsene Wenger’s side will need to turn their form around as the season progresses if they are to stand a chance of securing a top four finish.

One sure fire way to make sure that their campaign isn’t derailed by the loss of some of their best players is for Arsenal to make some January signings.

With that in mind Fekir would certainly be an interesting addition to Wenger’s squad, and the France international is in stunning form this season. 11 goals in 11 appearances for Lyon in Ligue 1 so far is a highly impressive statistic, and it is little surprise that a few of Europe’s top clubs are interested in acquiring Fekir’s services.

Arsenal will reportedly face competition from Catalan super club Barcelona, who will turn to Fekir if their pursuit of Philippe Coutinho falls short. Consequently if Arsenal can broker a deal for the Frenchman it would be quite the coup, and would represent an excellent addition to their squad.
