Premier League giants Arsenal may have lost star winger Alexis Sanchez, but they have added Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of that deal, and are looking to strengthen their squad in other areas before the January transfer window slams shut.

One man that the Gunners have been heavily linked with is West Brom defender Jonny Evans, and Arsene Wenger believes that he can get his man for cheap, according to the Mirror.

The optimism surrounding price comes regardless of the £20 price tag that the Baggies slapped on their centre half, mainly due to the fact that if the club get relegated then Evans can be bagged for just £3m.

The former Manchester United defender joined West Brom in 2015, and quickly established himself as a stalwart member of a defence that has largely been one of the stingier outfits in the Premier League.

This season however the Baggies have been struggling mightily, but Evans has made 21 appearances, and remains a man in high demand amongst the bigger clubs. Manchester City had previously been linked with a move for the Northern Irish international, but have since turned their attention to Athletic Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte.

Arsenal meanwhile currently sit sixth in the table, with the worst defensive record of the teams in the top six, so the addition of Evans would perhaps help them challenge for a top four finish come the end of the season.
